The Great Literacy Race is the perfect way to get your students excited about literacy outside your classroom. K-6 students help their class team reach the Finish Line by doing various literacy activities at home with family. The more time they spend reading / writing / singing / surfing, the more distance they cover with their team.
Activities are worth 5kms, 10kms and 15kms each. The more they do, the further they go! Your class team can get a weekly prize by traveling to each landmark. Reach the Finish Line to qualify for the Grand Prize Draw worth $400.
Already taking part in a school literacy program? No problem! All that reading counts for kms in the Race too!
Your mission?
Sign-up for the Race, hand out the materials, gather your students’ Tally Sheets weekly, encourage your team to ‘stay on track’ and watch the fun!
